TERRY PERK
Personal Profile
Born in the UK, I studied Fine Art at Leeds University and Bennington College, Vermont, USA, before gaining a PhD in the History and Theory of Art from the University of Kent.
For over 25 years I have taught and led teams designing and delivering creative education in tertiary and Higher Education. Previously Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University for the Creative Arts, where I was Professor of Fine Art Education, I now work as a higher education consultant and serve as a trustee of several arts organisations. I am also currently an Associate Director at the Cyprus Academy of Art.
I have extensive experience in developing and curating commissioned work for the public realm. My own creative practice explores technological relationships to landscape and geography, exploring the often invisible qualities that inform the way in which we experience specific places. My most recent sculptural works explore the landscapes of Kent and the Southeast of England, where I live.
